Well I am in NYC but I woke up very early, so I had some time to find some stuff online.
I will try to go and see this show tomorrow
Seattle-based artist Mike Leavitt participates in a movement that can be categorized as Pop art for the twenty first century. Lucky for us, Leavitt is a fellow sneakerhead. His latest work uses cheap, disposable material (cardboard) to replicate some of the most influential sneakers of our time. The cardboard shoes are built durable enough to wear, but even the rigid construction would succumb to a few drops of rain. The shoes will be installed like a thrift shop.at Fuse Gallery in NYC.
The “Don’t Stop Object Shopping” show opens this Saturday, March 21st.
